Peter FitzGerald’s extensive leadership experience in blue-chip organisations and his specialist knowledge in general management, business management, marketing and sales, strategy development and delivery, and change management processes, have equipped him to provide business and leadership development expertise to senior management in all types of organisations, from multi-national to single founder startups.

Before establishing Executive Empowerment, Peter had over 30 years management and leadership experience - with the majority of that time spent in leadership roles. He worked as General Manager for a large national organisation, responsible for overseeing the marketing and sales aspects of its transition from a government entity to a thriving publicly listed company. He also worked in various leadership positions for an international petroleum company, including roles in both Australia and the UK, as well as working in the Japanese and Middle Eastern markets. Peter has managed teams ranging from small groups of specialists through to general management of diverse teams situated both nationally and internationally. This experience equipped Peter with considerable understanding of the issues facing leaders in any context, including experience in both the technical side of management, and in the most challenging area of all – managing and leading people.

He is Founder and Director of both Executive Empowerment Pty. Ltd. and of Mothership Collective. Executive Empowerment specialises in executive coaching and leadership development, working across various sectors including Universities, Legal and Financial Services. Peter has created and presented a number of leadership programs for managers aspiring to senior executive and management positions. This work attracted an Award of Excellence from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2017. Mothership Collective invests in, Mentors, and supports Startups in all aspects of the journey from idea realization, to go-to-market success.

Peter is a Professor of Practice in the Monash University Business School, and is a Fellow of both the Williamson Community Leadership Program, and the Institute of Managers and Leaders. He is a past member of the Monash University Management Department Advisory Board, a past member of the Academic Board of the Australian Institute of Management (Victorian Branch), a Full Member of The World Association of Business Coaches, a Subscriber to the Australian Psychological Society Interest Group on Coaching Psychology, an Affiliate Member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology, a member of the Australian Coaching Industry Research Advisory Board, and a member of the Standards Australia working group that developed the national guidelines for executive coaching.

He has authored articles on aspects of executive coaching is a co-author of two texts on leadership and executive coaching.
